How do you cook such perfect sunny-side ups? Share the secret naman! Mine always ends up with a cooked-through yolk (whether intentionally or not!).

I have to agree with Keith - he's a sucker for anything with cround beef/pork!

Pinks, to be honest, I don't know how each egg will turn out when I'm cooking. I actually hold my breath and unconsciously say a silent prayer that it comes out perfect! Hahaha! I think the trick is to use a good-sized frying pan and an equally good-sized spatula/egg flipper (or whatever you call it!)...halatang baguhan sa kitchen...and I'm referring to myself! Hahaha! ;)

I love arroz ala cubana... actually serve me any dish with giniling-like ingredients and I'm solved.

Keith, you're so easy to please naman pala. Ayan, baka giniling ang palaging i-serve sa'yo ni Pinky!

i remember janet's version, pero i hardly ordered it kasi nga beef (pero nago-order naman ako ng lasagna, so ganun pa rin, haha!). anyway, i cook it with ground turkey now (alam mo naman, high blood yung ipinagluluto ko) and i still put raisins (kahit hindi kinakain ng mag-ama ko), and a few cubed potatoes, too.

Alam mo, hindi ko talaga matandaan na hindi ka kumakain ng beef noon pang high school tayo! Uuuy, bagong version yan ah...ground turkey. Masubukan nga. Puwede palang 5 days in a row mag arroz a la cubana ano?...iba-ibang ground something ang gagamitin. Hee hee! Ground beef...ground pork...ground turkey...ground chicken... ;) Malamang magyaya na naman kumain sa labas ang asawa ko pag ganun ang ginawa ko!

so that's what that dish is called! We were served this at my aunt's house one time and I loved it especially with the fried saba. My kids aren't crazy about raisins either that's why I never tried making this for them.
Maybe it's time to give it a try ;)

Hi JMom! You know what, a lot of people really don't realize that they're eating or cooking arroz a la cubana! It's my hubby who really refers to the dish by its real name while I sometimes choose to simply call it "ginisang giniling". Just don't put raisins in the dish. My daughter and I just outvoted my hubby on the raisins while I got outvoted on the green peas. Happy cooking!
