Take a Bow Cake

And by bow, I meant ribbon…on a cake. :)

I made this birthday cake last Wednesday.  It’s for a friend’s daughter who turned 8 years old (still too young to be thinking about the Blue Advantage) .  The birthday girl is over the colors pink and purple…at least for now.  Her current favorites are yellow and blue, which explains the color choices for this cake.

This cake was as much for me as it was for the birthday girl.  Personally, I was hoping for a redemption of sorts.  You see, this is my third be-ribboned cake.  The first one didn’t turn out so well and was most forgettable.  The second one was better.  And this third one, I’d like to think, isn’t so bad.

This is a Double Chocolate “Snack Cake” frosted and filled with my favorite perfectly chocolate chocolate  frosting.  Everyone seemed to like the cake…looks, taste and all. ;)

I had a wonderful weekend and I hope you did, too.  Have a great week ahead!

Tita, yous should be the one taking a “bow” for baking and decorating such a wonderful cake. I love the design, I remember your post about the “Baby-Pound cakes”, I have to say that, this baked goody is an “Edible Gift” for the Holidays!
