Happy New Year! Happy 2010! I couldn’t let the first day of 2010 end without leaving y’all a greeting. :)
If there’s one New Year’s tradition that I almost always try to observe, it’s having 13 different kinds of round fruits on the dining table on New Year’s Eve. It’s a cultural thing. :D The fruits are supposed to symbolize a bountiful year…a year plenty of good things. I’m glad my favorite supermarket had a vast selection of round fruits. We have cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, persimons, crab apple, navel orange, cherries, grapes, (regular) apples, kiwis, peaches, apricots and mangoes.
I’ve got the symbols part covered. My life basket is ready for the heavy downpour of God’s blessings. ;)
I hope you had a great first day of the year! Be happy and shun everything (and everyone!) that (who) is negative. Hee hee.
Cheers and Mabuhay!!
