Starry 2-Tiered 7th Birthday Cake
I baked and decorated a 2-tiered birthday cake and a few cupcakes for the 7th birthday of a sweet girl. The birthday party is every little girl’s dream, one that is held at a kiddie salon and Hollywood-themed. The little girls had a lot of fun being glammed-up like superstars: hair done, faces made and nails polished. Oh yes, some of the boys had their hair done, too – shark style with colored gel. Hee hee. Cute, I tell yah!
The birthday girl wanted a Hannah Montana inspired cake. I kept to a Hannah Montana color scheme – blue, pink and purple – stuck a few stars in the cake and topped it all with a Hannah Montana birthday candle.

This is pound cake with french buttercream filling and frosting. The birthday girl isn’t fond of chocolate. Hee hee. :)

All decorations are fondant except for the candle. :) I’m very happy with how this cake turned out. The first time I used floral wire to hold stars, I used the wrong gauge of wire so they all ended up being bent at the ends. I’m glad I got it right this time. Hee hee. :)

These are Butterscotch Cupcakes, iced with french buttercream and topped with fondant stars. I didn’t realize I’ve already ran out of disposable piping bags so I had to make do with quart freezer bags and just snipped a corner.
My daughter loved the cake and is already looking forward to her own birthday cake, which I promised will be awesome. *cross fingers* Decorating birthday cakes for little girls and boys always make me think about my nieces and nephews back home. I wish I could bake and decorate their birthday cakes, too. I know I’ll get to do that soon, God willing.
One birthday cake for the month of June down, two more to go! :)
Enjoy what’s left of the weekend, y’all! Cheers!

How cute! I m sure the birthday girl loved it. both cake and cupcakes. :)

Fabulous as usual! Too bad you live just so far away, I would’ve highly recommended your expert baking services to a friend here whose daughter would also be having a Hannah Montana-themed 7th birthday party soon… I’m sure your creation will, pardon the pun, take the cake! :D

Hi Donna! I am sorry for the overly late reply. If I’m not mistaken, I used either a #20 or #18 for this cake. I got them at Michael’s. :)
