Randy White’s Hall of Fame Barbecue

Friends we visited in Frisco, TX two weeks ago (and then again last week!) treated us to some “Dallas-style” Texas barbecue at Randy White’s Hall of Fame Barbecue.  One thing our family embraced wholeheartedly since moving to Texas more than 3 years ago is the BARBECUE. Nomnomnomnom!

On Randy White’s list of  barbecue meats are sliced beef, pulled pork, sausage, chicken, Randy White’s house sausage, ham, jalapeno sausage, turkey, signature baby back ribs and chopped beef (marinated in bbq sauce).

If you love sides, you’re going to love Randy White’s.  Why?  Because unlike in other barbecue place, you get to do the honors of serving yourself, the sides of your choice!  Sides selection includes pinto beans, jalapeno beans, baked beans, green beans, potato salad, cole slaw, broccoli salad, cucumber salad, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, western fries, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, potato casserole and southwestern rice.

My daughter ordered a BBQ Plate from the Kids Menu.  She loves beef brisket and we made the mistake of ordering her baby back ribs.  She did eat some of her ribs, that is, in addition to the beef brisket that hubby and I shared with her. :)

The mac and cheese must have been good because the two little girls in our table wiped their plates clean of any sign of mac and cheese.

I chose chicken and brisket for my 2-meat platter.  The chicken was huge!  But I have to say, the brisket could have been a little bit more moist.  I’m just saying! :)

Hubby had brisket and ribs and the southwestern rice.  I tasted the rice and regretted not choosing it for one of my sides as well, say, in place of the slaw. But I love slaw and mashed potatoes!

Randy White’s is a little bit pricey but, like I said, you get to serve yourself the sides of your choice.  And not only that, you can help yourself to some dessert, too!  They have soft-served ice cream and peach cobbler.

Here’s the condiments station.  Just next to it were the gravies, rolls and corn bread.

I know I shouldn’t have, but I had to taste the corn bread.

And of course, stuffed as I was with all the meat and sides that I devoured, I still helped myself to some peach cobbler topped with soft-served vanilla ice cream. Yum!

It was a wonderful dining experience.  I loved the country feel  of the place and the very friendly Randy White’s staff.  Oh, and they also had hot towels you can wipe your saucy fingers with after a filling barbecue meal!

We hope to revisit Randy White’s the next time we find ourselves in Frisco, TX. ;)
