Yes it is a toy. Abby’s! It looks so ridiculously real, doesn’t it? It’s a belated birthday gift from her Ninang (Godmother) Pinky and Tito (Uncle) Keith. The Chinois kids, Abby’s cousins, Luigi, Rafa and Marga, gave Abby the book “First Book of Sushi”.
Abby and her belated birthday loots
Care for some sushi?
I love this toy bento box. It’s so child friendly. The chopsticks and the sushi/maki pieces have velcro on them.
Look ma, one chopstick only! Hahaha!
I didn’t realize it was sooo easy to make a tamago sushi…
And check out the nori (sea weed)!
September is beginning to feel like Japanese culture appreciation month here at out home. First, Abby got a Hello Kitty showcase (two weeks ago). And now, these! Hee hee. I’m not complaining.
I was in grade school when I first attended a bingo social. My school then held such an event as a fund raiser on a yearly basis. Those days, there were none of the cool bingo markers that we have now. Yes, the ones that come in different colors with blotting tips of different shapes! Back then, we used corn kernels and small rocks as markers. Hee hee. The game of bingo has indeed come a long way.
As proof that BINGO has evolved and continues to evolve, there is now a Disney Bingo DVD game out in the market. It’s available online at Amazon.Com and Drugstore.com. And because it is by Disney, you can be sure that it is a game that the entire family, the kids specially, will have loads of fun playing.
My daughter loves playing board games, the improved versions of the ones I played with when I was little. I can bet we’re going to love this bingo game from Disney. It’s a fun way for kids aged 3-6 to master numbers, colors, patterns and matching skills. Just pop the DVD into the player and the video will automatically call in the numbers. Parents can then focus on helping and making sure the kids get the numbers and patterns right. But moms and dads can always choose to call the numbers themselves. That makes the Disney Bingo an anytime, anywhere game.
Abby received the most adorable “lunchmates” as presents last week. She now has a new Hello Kitty food container, which she can use for her school lunches…
…and the cutest pair of chopsticks.
The food container is a little small, but I like that I can play with it and remove one or both dividers if necessary.
That’s exactly what I did last Friday. I took out the dividers so I can fit 10 pcs. of siomai in the container. Notice the green attachment on the chopsticks? It helps make the chopsticks more kid friendly.
I have another Wordless Wednesday entry HERE. Visit Wordless Wednesday participants here.
My daughter had her 4th birthday party last Saturday and this was her birthday cake. I ordered it from Wal-Mart. It looked really pretty on the catalogue but turned out to be a little too simply in reality. Plus, I was the one who put the princesses on the cake! It was a little overpriced, I think. Anyway, it served around 40 people (kids and adults).
Cinderella lights up, too! Hee hee! Well, anything for my little princess.
Duncan Hines Red Velvet mix plus 1 1/1 cups water, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, and 3 eggs, equals…
I used this for the frosting…
Add these…
…and you get these…
It’s my first time to taste a red velvet cupcake. I don’t know how it’s supposed to taste. These, sad to say, tasted like cardboard. And I doubt if that’s how the cupcakes are supposed to taste. Thank goodness for the strawberry frosting! I’ll do this from scratch next time. :) It’s been a while since I used anything ready-mix for baking.
